DLA mobility

We have just applied for this as DD is now 3.
We are already receiving the care component.
If you have applied,how long did it take them to process your claim? TIA

I dont think there is any definite time Bonnycat. The first time we ever applied it took less than 2 weeks for the result. The latest time took 9 months but that was because we were disputing the level- they awarded medium rate when we believed it should have been higher. We are still in the process of the mobility claim. Are you receiving high rate care Bonnycat? because I think it works that you can only apply for mobility if you are entitled to higher rate care for children under 5.

Yes we are getting high rate care.
Just wondered if they will contact all her consultants etc again or go on the information they already have as the care award was only granted last May.

I think that's a bit random as well- I don't believe they have contacted any of DS's before but this time they have asked for confirmation of the paediatrician's address.

Ok,thanks for your help,its such a nightmare isnt it,the way we have to fight for everything for them.

I got turned down twice fro mobility for my ds just turned 4. He gets higher rate dla and I have been turned down as they say he does not have severe learning dis, yet every report states he has a mental age of just under 1 year. IS unable to sign, talk point or react to words actions etc. So now we are going to tribunal fun fun but I will fight it.

Bonny, seems that we are both in the same boat - DS5 has HRC since last may, and now hes practically 3 (in 3wks) starting app for mobility too.
