I went to Wilfs DLA appeal today, they had reduced his highest rate care to middle rate. It was so frightening going in there. A lawyer a doctor and somebody else as well as someone from the benefits agency. They said i couldnt get the highest rate as he is at school all week and he never gives them any trouble! I told them exactly what he is like at home and how much trouble i have getting into bed and staying there but as he spends most of his time at school by law they cant do anything to help!

oh poor you, that sounds so unfair

MABS · 05/03/2009 16:47

poor you x

That sounds really unfair, and a bit odd that the school would say he doesn't give them any bother when he is there. for you

staryeyed · 05/03/2009 18:12

But Lottie I thought HIgh rate care was related to night time needs so would have nothing to do with the school surely?

lottiejenkins · 05/03/2009 18:16

I didnt say im sorry, he is at residential school from Monday to Friday so spends most of his nights with them!

Sorry to hear that, lottiejenkins. Frustrating for you

staryeyed · 05/03/2009 18:48

Oh now I see. Oh how unsupportive of them. Had they said they weren't going to support your appeal?

lottiejenkins · 05/03/2009 19:10

Not exactly.......and they cant say he's being a pain there if he isnt!
