Has anyone been on a 'More than wors' course? And did you find it useful? Mt Paed has sent me a list of all different courses and she has highlighted this one, and the early years parent programme. I want to know if its worth trying to get a place, as they are run quite a way from us in Worksop and Mansfield, and it would mean trying to arrange childcare for three children!

I have been on a very similar course "It takes two to talk" - which is set up using materials from the same organisation, Hanen (www.hanen.org.uk). It was absolutely brilliant, and you should get extra SALT visits as well as part of the course. The 2 SALT who did the course were fabulous, defo the best amongst the NHS SALT I have encountered. In terms of arranging childcare - is that so your dh/partner can go?

No, unfortunately its in the day - 9.30 until 11.30, which is a bit difficult because I would have to arrange someone to drop DS1 off at school too.

I have called up about it, and the next course is full, and the one after that starts in September, so I have put myself down for that.

oh how awkward, I was very lucky, they had SALT willing to put on an evening course.

I havn't been on the course but i would say its worth going, dh and i are doing the 'early birds course' which has been really helpful so far, we also get free child care because the course is being run at a SN school which has a nursery.

Can I ask how you found out about the other courses?

I was given the info when dd1 got her DX, i also get told about local courses through dd2's SN playgroup. I was lucky that the decided to run a course 5 miles from my home so i have time to drop dd1 off at school and dd2 goes to the nursery.
