And it went really well, I only cried once!

She does agree that DS has Autistic traits, and thinks he is probably on the spectrum, but as he is only two (its his birthday today), she doesnt want to make a definate diagnosis. She has refered us to an Early Years inclusion team, and we are waiting for our SALT referal, and we will see her again in three months.

Feel really positive, although hearing someone else describe DS's behavior, and answering 'no' to all her 'can he do' questions was a bit heartbreaking, but I know that I am doing the best for DS and also I might actually get some support now, rather than battling on my own

It is sad having to admit to strangers that your dc can't do ' x, y and z' . He is very young though, no one can make any predictions at this stage. He may be on the spectrum but where and what he will achieve is unknown territory - as it is with all children although that doesn't make it any easier when you are going through the dx process.

I'm glad the appointment went well and I hope it kick-starts getting your DS the support he needs.

Oh and most importantly wishing your son a very happy birthday

Just wanted to say good news and hope things turn out Ok for you. I posted today as we had a Paed appointment for my dd (6) and he confirmed she has Aspergers, so am still taking it all in.

It's hard but it's all for the best and if it gets them help and understanding then that has to be a good thing.
