This is really shocking and it's hard to believe that such ridiculous people exist:

Hi Ladies,

would it be too much to ask that you show your support for cerrie here:

www.cerrieburnellisawesome.co.uk

brought to you buy the team behind mrtumbleisinnocent.co.uk

have a nice day

ICANDOTHAT · 24/02/2009 16:42

I don't think for one minute any child would be scared of watching this woman on the TV. It's the adults who have the problem - what a-holes !

Riven I know sometimes it's easier to walk away, but didn't you want to take it further? [angry)

surprisenumber3 · 24/02/2009 17:06

have done beldaran

Peachy · 24/02/2009 19:50

It's stupid and based on fear

I had a thread in aibu earlier about mumsasking ta's about ds3 rather than talking to me: some people tink disability is infectious and if they can hide it they are 'safe' from it

I don't think they even realisepeoplewith sn or their famillies have emotions anyway, we either scare them or use up resourcesthat could bespent on their dd instead]

Perhaps they could be more honest and chase me away from the gates with a circus whip yelling 'begone with thee, spawn of satan@ take thy generous award of £50CA and rest in thy billet, sorrowful creature'

(((peachy)))...

FairLadyRantALot · 24/02/2009 20:17

beldaran, done!

JustineMumsnet · 24/02/2009 23:24

Just seen this from Carol Midgley - good for her for sticking up for Cerrie Burnell but she clearly hasn't read this thread has she? Do wish people wouldn't tar all websites with the same brush [grumble emoticon].

dontgive2shoites4daftpricks · 24/02/2009 23:31

"I am not being sneery about forums such as Mumsnet and I don't underestimate what a brilliant lifeline they are. But - honestly - have you seen some of the threads on these sites?"

She does have a point. There have been plenty of unedifying threads on here of late. Not a great deal can be done about that though.

TheCrackFox · 24/02/2009 23:41

Ah, it all comes flooding back to me, the reason(s) I stopped buying the Times. Carol couldn't wait to imply that all SAHMs are slightly brain dead.

I can get insulted on MN for free.

dontgive2shoites4daftpricks · 24/02/2009 23:46

Oh don't let a lightweight journalist like Carol put you off. She's lazy, at best.

TheCrackFox · 24/02/2009 23:57

To be fair, I don't think I have ever managed to finish reading an article written by Carol and this was no different. How on Earth her editor puts up with her drivel week in, week out is beyond me.

sweetgrapes · 25/02/2009 00:05

About the presenter, I think she looks really sweet and has a lovely voice. Makes a welcome change from Poi (she was also nice but had enough of her).

I didn't even notice her disability for quite a few days. The dc's haven't commented , not even particularly stared. So they are definetely not traumatised!

They think she is wonderful because she does a great maca pacca!!

MannyMoeAndJack · 25/02/2009 07:55

I just posted a comment after the article with a link to this thread!
