Flying with peg-fed child - any advice?

Do you take feeds on board/put in hold/need to advance warn airport security and airline? I've heard Stories of people being told to taste baby bottles to prove not at bomb.Urban Myth? Will also have w/ch or sp needs pushchair. Non-walking child of 6.

If they are prescribed feeds you can take a note from your doctor and you won't have to taste it.

Just carry what you need for the flight, and put the rest in the hold.

When we travel with DD2 we carry medication including needles (and used to carry feeds as she was NG fed). We carry a letter from the consultant on headed paper and inform them at check in. We've never had any problems.

Who are you flying with? Worth advising them in advance IMO if you are travelling with someone with special or medical needs, especially if you have a wheelchair or Major.

which company supplies the milk, is it homeward? i know they can deliver the milk to where you are going. friend of mine had some sent to a campsite in france last year i think.

Hi Glittery Yes Homeward, but we're visiting relatives a broad for just a few days (they and we couldn't cope for any longer) so prob'ly not worth delivery abroad. I've just looked at your kid's pics, very cute, I think we have the same chair in purple!

I think its always a good idea to phone the airline and the airport staff beforehand if possible. We flew to Spain a few years ago (from Glasgow with First Choice Airline) and i found the airport staff very helpful, couldnt do enough for us and at the time ds wasnt even in his wheelchair just a buggy.
He stayed in it all the way onto the plane, the ground crew even carried him up the stairs...like to see them try that now!
Hopefully they wont make you taste the milk eh? ds is on nutrini energy but before he was on nutrini pepti...totally gave me the boak!
