CP child and eating

My DS is 30 months old (dx'ed at 19 mo with moderate CP, non-verbal and gross motor delay). He's become really picky with his food, he can finger-feed or use a spoon with assistance, but recently has whined and cried whenever we sit him down to eat. Is this a phase? He's been a bit out of sorts since his MMR booster last week, and has had a cold, but has been weird about food for about 2 months.

Could he be cutting back teeth?

It could very well be a phase and is asserting himself, true toddler style.

Do you think he is in pain? what about drinking? can he swallow ok?

Could you ask his SALT if he has one?

He's wolfing back his milk so swallowing isn't a problem. If you can get him to eat he'll just sit with it in his mouth or spit it back.

We have a SALT supposedly, seen her once.
