My ds2 has just signed "thank you" to me twice today. I didnt even know he could do it! Must have picked it up from school. Clever little bloke.

Bless, thats the only sign my dd2 (3) can do, she has started using it alot. Well done to your ds.

ds2 is 3 as well. I'm not sure if they are teaching it to him at nursery, or if he picked it up from one of the kids there as I know of two kids who use macaton.

Bless. Bet you are one proud Mummy!

I think a lot of nursery's are starting to use macaton now which is great for our LO's. Does he watch Mr Tumble?

5inthebed · 29/01/2009 21:08

He loves mister tumble. They've changed the time though, so its only on when he is at nursery.

5inthebed thats brilliant! well done little5 !

That is lovely You can get books and videos from the library that can help you to learn more. Nursery might be able to advise you of a specific one, I am sure they must use a guide of some sort. Then you can help him learn more signs.

DD does not have SN that I know of but we did signing when she was quite small and it really helped us to know what she wanted and helped her understand some basic concepts like "all gone" when eating etc. I found it quite easy to learn as you pick the signs you need in day to day life and just stick to them.
