Sleep in own bed?

Hi

Been posting and a moaning here of late!

Sorry but quick question. My six year old won't sleep in his own bed - ever! He clings to me at night and it's getting really hard to sleep. It thought he'd be over this by now

I've posted about possible sensory etc issues.

Has anyone ever heard about this being connected/significant?

Thanks

Absolutely. My DS hates sleeping alone - its well recognised in ASD children anyway 9I know you don't have a diagnosis but your ds has a lot of traits which may overlap with an ASD). There could be all sorts of reasons - fear of the dark, a need for sensory input (eg from a weighted blanket) because of poor body awareness, or even a fear that they will not wake up. Can he express his anxiety to you?

I'm off to work, but will check later for further advice.

Thanks for that. He says he has nightmares and doesn't have them when he's with me!

He had a friend round today and he seemed strangely so much more mature than them. The friend was playing with my three year old and they were being crazy together and DS got really jealous and angry. He wanted to draw!

Just made me wonder if that sort of stuff happens at school. He got time out yesterday for hitting a boy he wasn't even playing with but he has refused to say why - saying 'I can't remember'. Mmmm.

Sorry, off topic. I'm probably reading stuff into every bit of behaviour!
