A few DLA Questions?

Dd1 is getting middle rate DLA but this runs out in 2 weeks (on her 5th birthday), do i need to fill in all the forms again? When can i re-apply online? Can i do it now or do i need to wait until dd's 5th birthday?

What rate should i expect for Aspergers? Dh thinks it will get reduced to lower rate.

Is it possible to get mobility for Aspergers? Dd1 has a issue with un-even surfaces and refuses to walk on pathed areas, she also has poor motor skills but can walk without pain and discomfort (she just chooses not to walk sometimes).

Marne you should already have done it, they usually send the forms out about 3 months before an award runs out.

My DDs DLA runs out in June but they sent me forms to reapply just before Christmas! Perhaps you should give them a call.

I havn't had anything through the post, maybe they assume i will aply online as i did that last time?

I will start filling them out online tonight.

I will heck with dh as sometimes he opens the post.

You should also be able to get the mobility element probably at the lower rate IME.

I have just phoned them and they said i sould have had a pack sent to me (which i havn't), now they are saying i might loose payments as they can't always backdate the payments (the claim could take up to 8 weeks). .

Now they have phoned me back saying it doesnt run out until 20012 , my letter clearly states 2009, now im worried that my payments will stop next week, why would it say 2009 on my letter ? .

Try and get a new award letter sent to you with this date on it, sounds like they have cocked up.

Oh dear Marne, I hope that it is 2012, and not next week. Perhaps ask them to confirm it in writing, so you have some sort of backup if it does stop next week?

Does it say you can reapply in 2009 if you wish to claim the mobility component. That is what happened with mine - my care component had been awarded until 2012, but I needed to claim the other component once he reached 5.
