my ds age 5 has been diagnosed as having ADHD this was suspected since he was 3.

recently i have noticed a few things;

he seems to have an obsession with time always asking what the time is and looking at the time on sky.

running upstairs to turn off all the lights and shuting the doors.

he has to know what the days plans are and if they are changed he becomes agetated.

a few people i have spoken to have hinted to autism but from what i heve read about it doesn't seem likely

these are just a few things but the most persistant things is this normal for a 5 yr old?

its probably me just analising every move he makes! any thoughts would be apperciated

What about OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). This seems to be a frequent comorbid condition with ADHD. I know of a couple of children with ADHD who have this although their symptoms seem more pronounced than what you have described. From what I know having obsessive tendancies is just one of many autistic traits but you have to have many more besides to be autistic. My DS has adhd and dyspraxic traits

I joined an ADHD support group when ds was 3. Many of the children who start school with a Dx of ADHD and language delay (as my son did) later get extra Dxs - mostly AS, HFA, and dyspraxia. In ds case his extreme hyperactivity, impulsivity and lack of language,(so impossible to assess or interact with) masked his autism.
