ive just received a letter about the claim for dla i put in for.it says they cant give us a decision yet as they have requested a report from the school.is this a common thing? and why have they chosen to contact the nursery school and not dd4's peadis /doctors ect?

Yes, have had this in the past. Try to see what the school put down if you can, too optomistic and it will affect the claim.

was it the teacher or the headteacher that sends report? am asking because dd4s got an assistant teacher/learning support whos very good with her that the head arranged, but the nursery class teacher cant be arsed with her tbh, dd4 is too much of a nuscence/distraction/disruption to the NT kids. this teacher also treats dd4s twin brother as if hes special needs too, which is quite annoying as there is no reason why he cant sit with the other kids and join in with story time/activties.i dont think she'd be the best one to do the report!

you will probably receive another letter saying they are contacting gp etc we received around 3 letters stating they were contacting different professionals who were involved with ds

3 LETTERS ?, thats a bit mental! why not just send one saying they are contacting A B and C ? they must either love paperwork, or hate trees! lol.

ok, teacher, well i give up!will be quite resigned to think dd4 wont get it then, just have to find another way to pay for extra speach therapy instead !that way if dd4 does get it, it will be a nice we extra in her bank.

they probably have the one standard letter for each that they send you out at the time they are contacting them
