got paed letter now what ? help please!!!

right got paed letter for ds 2.5 it waffles on then says "he is developmentally delayed, mainly in his speech and language development, and he has immature social skills. Clinically he does fit the criteria of autism. He needs a notification to education regarding his possibel educational needs. Therefore this needs to be addressed through the local CDC. blah blah, In particular he needs his hearing assessed and needs the local eduaction authority's involvement"
The paed did say he had some autistic traits but cant diagnose with 1 meeting and they may just be things he grows out of.
So I dont know what to do now do I start looking for a preschool place for him as alot of them start taking kids at 2.6 or wait to see what the child devolpment team say.
Do I have to get in contact with the educational people.
I am in a bloody muddle and dont know where to start help please

I believe the notification mentioned needs to be done by a Health Professional of sorts. I know in my sons case the Paediaitrician forgot to do it (!) so the Senior SALT had to get her Manager to do it. In DS1's case this was to notify the Ed Psych and a Specialist Teacher that he had SEN. DS1 was already in preschool so I don't know what the procedure is before they start - perhaps a phonecall to the Ed Psych dept may clear this up for you.

I would call the Childrens Development Centre in a couple of days to make sure they have received the referral if that's been needed - I know it our case it took 3 attempts (1 by post and 2 faxed copies) before they got it .

Just spoke to HV the reason I am so confused is - he was referred to paed in different county to which we live ( was born at and seem another paed about different matter at this hospital).Has to see paed for same appoinment basically but within this county so they can do all the referring within the county. So what to see the paed again for same fooking thing.
