Hope you don't mind me posting here, but I just heard there will be a short programme on Radio 4 next Sun (10th) at 17.40 called 'Being Joe', which might/might not be of interest to those of children with autism.

I only quickly heard the programme advertised just now. 'Being Joe' is about an autistic boy and the observations of his father on the subject. Just thought I'd let you know, might be worth a listen

There was a trailer for this on R4 this evening - was about to start a thread but I thought I'd seen one already.

Details here - it sounds excellent.

I just heard another trailer, Socci, or I would have too! R4 seems to be promoting it a lot which is great.

Thanks for telling us about that Tinygang - I eventually found Radio 4 and listened to it sitting on the floor with my ds playing beside me. It was very good and continues next week.

I found myself nodding in agreement at almost everything said - very good.

i loved this...wonder if it's from a book???

Joe is very similar to ds1. It was interesting. Really hope we don't have to do the residential option though- I dread that

I thought it demonstrated very well how you can't make any assumptions when it comes to autism. ds1 does that with the sheds- and a frien's little boy did the same with the toilet!
