my ds has this sometimes and doesn't progress but last bad temp was sickness bug

has she been around anyone with chicken pox its all going around my ds pre school at moment this can cause high temp before spots come out

if really worried go and see gp maybe it could be viral infection ds had tonsillitis and had no idea as he couldn't tell me i felt awful wasn't until i got it that i found he had it

if you can syringe small amounts of calpol and get your dose that way so its not heavy enough to make he gag also ice pops are a godsend at times like this as gets fluids in at slow pace and kinder on tummy

if temp is so high gp wont mind you calling my gp was really kind and gave ds full check over to rule all sorts of things out said it was viral but if temp hadnt gone down in 2 days to take him straight back it went down then came back for 1 day and then gone

its there bodies way of fighting something so for your peace of mind just get gp to check maybe glands are up etc

hope she feels better soon its so worrying xx

Hope she is better soon. Yes I think it is common to have no other obvious signs beyond temperature and lethargy (like spots/ coughing) to guide you especially in the first day or so of many illnesses. Headache, achy /weak limbs and 'feeling awful' are how adults describe flu not really thgings you can look for in a child. Agree see the gp if her temperature goes up or if she is floppy.

Thanks, she seems to have perked up a bit and is eating and drinking a little, no sign of chicken pox, the only person she has been around that has been ill is me so she may have this flu virus, i have had it for 3 weeks but i thought the dd's had got away with not catching it. She seems to handle being ill alot better than me (i'm a wimp).
