schools with language units attached

im serioussly looking at uping sticks and moving so0 can find a school with one attached only one near me has 20 places for 4- 11 yer olds but won`t take my son as he hs gd as well.

has anyone had epeeriance of a good school he has sld , no verbal communication at all.
am more less willing go anywhere to give him best chances

Liverpool supposedly has a language unit for kids with MLD (moderate learning difficulties) - I say supposedly because it's in the council brochure but SALT didn't appear to know about it. But I really couldn't recommend Liverpool to you - long waiting lists, unwilling to statement.

Two questions - what has ed psych said about school placement - and do you want him in mainstream or at a unit, as opposed to in special schools? as special schools can be very good at supporting language problems and alternative forms of communication, and will have smaller classes, more experienced teachers /ta's in dealing with SN.

My dd is in a language unit and they take children with normal or above IQ. They do have very good sn schools round here that deal with ld's as well. Where abouts are you?

hi I am in essex nr colchester wrong side of essex .from what been told.

the ed has concerns that the gap between him and his peers is widening .

the education depat is pushing for Ms with statemet which i m hoping be f/t 1-1 like has at nursery now, all i get when mention sn schools is that he might go backwards etc ,but do have meeting thisweek with local primary so if aanyone has idearss ofquestions to ask

unfortunaley blossomhill his iq no one knows, but hes 18 months plus behind in everything but laungage which is sd.
