I sent off for the forms as per NAS thinking that I would just keep hold of them until ds has a dx but didnt realise they have a date to be returned by.

The school are doing a report for when I go to the Pead and I know the Dr will prob do something for me, would you fill out the dla forms and send even though no dx, I can prob prove that he needs more care than a nt 4 year old, due to his falls etc.

If you are rejected can you apply again, straight away, what is the best thing to do.

Im now struggling working, as Im back and forward to the school and hosp and appointments, I could really do with this extra help to allow me to give it up.

You don't need a dx, ds3 doesn't have oe and he's on his second year of dla, awrded until 16

If you are rejected (fair chance, seems fairly random- ds3 went from reject to higher rate in one letter LOL) you just follow the appeal procedure, starting with asking to have it looked at agin. Quite often i reckon that means looked at at all, tbh.

Go ahead and apply, Paed tells me something like 20% plus will never get a DX, so quite common really

the reason they are dated btw is if you send it back by the date it is backdated to the date the form was requested

Lots of great links on this page to help will completing the horrid form.

Remember, as painful as it is, to always write down worst case scenerio. It isn't nice thinking in such a negative way, but is a necessity when it comes to the DLA forms.

Best of luck.

My ds got DLA for nearly 4 years before getting a dx. I recommend you use the guides on the Cerebra website when filling in the forms as I found them invaluable.
