Argh, where can I find a replacement window key for a very old window?

The DC's bedroom window has a lock on the bottom and one on the top. I thought DS couldn't reach it but just caught him standing on two toys (precariously balanced) trying to open the top one. The key is long lost.

I'm panicking now and will have him in our room tonight, it's a 3 story drop to concrete. I hate this sort of thing. I feel sick, and I wish I was able to explain to him to not do it.

What does the lock look like ?

Thanks mummyofboys, I posted elsewhere too and got a link to a window lock from mothercare. It will be fine as a short term solution.

It's an old style chubb type lock. We might have to have the lock replaced I think.

We've got a great 'old fashioned' hardware shop by us who sell window, door and wardrobe locks that are 'universal' - usually for old style locks. You could try somewhere like that - good luck!

Dh knows a lot about locks and keys (one of his AS obsessions). He says that if you upload a picture of the actual lock then he might be able to tell you where you can get a key for it.
