speak for yourself.

SunshinePine · 22/11/2008 17:59

lurkers, who are they?

maybe they think we are depressed and over-tired because we have children with SN.

. Oh wait, I already cast my opinions here .

noonki · 22/11/2008 18:08

found me

siblingrivalry · 22/11/2008 18:23

I must confess to lurking
I post now and again, but I feel like a bit of a 'fraud' posting in SN. My dd has SPD and extreme anxiety/OCDs, but a lot of people's dc on this board have much more profound needs and therefore have a lot more to cope with than I do.

I suppose I worry about going on about my problems when someone else could literally be dealing with a life or death situation.

I get a lot of comfort from reading many of the various posts, though.

2shoes · 22/11/2008 18:32

SammyK · 22/11/2008 18:37

I am a lurker, and occasional poster on here, DS is ASD, and have found everyone lovely here when I venture away from the Childcare boards.

PandaG · 22/11/2008 19:08

hello, and thanks for this your welcome on here and the thread in chat has been lovely

I don't expect I will post much, but instead of feeling it would be inappropriate I will feel free to post if (unlikely I know) I have anything of value to say on the SN board.

giraffescantdancethetango · 22/11/2008 19:56

hello

siblingrivalry · 22/11/2008 21:19

2shoes, dd has Sensory Processing Disorder. At the moment, she is incredibly tactile/audio defensive.

2shoes · 22/11/2008 22:02

oh I get it.
Sorry to have been so thick, I think sometimes we all live in our own bubble.
do post on here.

BlueCowStillWondering · 22/11/2008 22:27

agree with PandaG - nowt to add usually, but certainly would if I had something useful to say (but highly unlikely! plenty of drivel to say, nothing useful usually...)

The chat thread was great!

CaptainPlump · 22/11/2008 22:28

Hello, I forget all about this place for weeks or months at a time and then come back and lurk frantically for a few days. I love it and everyone seems friendly, but I tend to hang out in places where you get email notifications to your posts because I'm JUST TOO LAZY to constantly check back in different threads to see if anyone's replied to my comments.

(DS, best boy in the whole world, just turned 5, autistic!)

AnarchyAunt · 22/11/2008 22:32

I post every now and then, when I have something helpful to say or when I need advice. I have a 10yo half brother, dx ASD but family think he has PDA syndrome instead/as well.

As others, I tend to feel my offerings would be trite as I know very little compared to some on here. But its a fab board with some of the best advice, experience, and support that MN has to offer

Threadworrm · 22/11/2008 22:48

I lurk here, but don't post. Too afraid of my ignorance etc.

Really wanted to say something to needmorecoffee today on her thread where she said she was feeling down about going to a party. Sat on hands though.

LottieDugalo · 23/11/2008 08:37

I post occasionally, my dd is 2 1/2 she has hydranencephaly, she had a stroke sometime before she was 4 weeks old and her brain died, she has her brain stem in tact and very little else her head is filled with pockets of csf. She is profoundly disabled and things can be a struggle; she is one of the happiest children I've ever met, the seizures, vi, hip dislocation, developing scoliosis, refusal to sit or lie on anything that isn't me melt away.

The top picture here is my dd and ds

Welcome Lurkers!
Glad you are with us.

VJay · 23/11/2008 09:05

I lurk on here, my ds was recently diagnosed as having ASD. I often write coments but then delete them, don't know why. But I have picked up some fab advice, and everyone seems so friendly, so thankyou

Christie you also give very good advice

OP posts:
julier1 · 23/11/2008 10:44

I think the same you can get really good advice here but I still feel shy about posting especially as my dd has CF as her main medical problem and their are very few postings on this topic. Sometimes i read a thread and even go as far as writing a comment but then deleting it.

By the way Lottie I have looked at your pictures and your children are gorgeous

See I am being a bit braver and posting

fatzak · 23/11/2008 10:45

Another lurker here DS1 has epilepsy and he is having a dreadful time at the mo - his seizures in his sleep are getting worse and as a result he is unable to concentrate at school as he is so tired.

BCNS · 23/11/2008 11:13

I lurk.. ( quietly like to see how all is going for all of you).. never have much to say tho.. as I'm not a mum of SN.. just a sibling.. so unless it's anything sibling related .. I can't really help out.. ..
