AIBU, seat protectors?

So, my new run around car has rather nice leather upholstry and I am thinking it might be a good idea to use a seat protector for the in-between kids who are not fully reliable with toileting but are out of nappies. One such client would not care about sitting on a protector, but I think the other would not like it one bit!

I don't want to upset this child but his mum always sends a spare set of clothes with him, so there is a risk of an accident and apparently wet leather is a real pain to sort out.

Am I being unreasonable to try protecting my car in this way and any thoughts on what I should do to keep everyone happy?

My dd is dy, but like a lot of sn young people accidents do happen, so I have a stock of seat protectors just for long journeys.

could you not put them on all the seats even yours. then do the "oh my precious car" thing?

can you put something on the whole of the back seat? so its protects against crumbs, wet waterproofs, wellies, spilt drinks etc as well as "accidents"? Not so pointed a comment then, just you trying to keep car presentable for when your not carrying kids about.

I know you can get back seat protectors for dogs. They do attach to the seat in front as well but you don't have to use that bit, just let it hang down. Or maybe just a plastic-backed picnic rug laid across the whole back seat? That would be fairly unobtrusive as it looks like an ordinary rug, not a waterproof sheet.

Not the mother objecting 2shoes, the child. I can see what went wrong and "the other would not like it one bit" was not a typo, I was referring to two different clients because all the others I care for are either in nappies or 110% dry.

Good ideas about using something more general, I didn't think about that.

We had one of these for a while. It's waterproof but doesn't look it iyswim.
You could always say you were covering the seats for comfort because leather would be cold in winter/hot in summer.
