I am worried maybe my 2 year old who is speech delayed has a hearing problem. Is it possible to walk in to the local childrens hospital and ask for a cursory hearing test or will they fob you off?

I should add, it will be four months till his name comes up on the list. That is why i want him tested now, cause it could be he might be partly deaf (runs in the family)

I did jump the queue with ds1 (just to add he had a test done when 2 was meant to be reviewed every 3 months and this was a year and a half later!) I was lucky that the dr that did the tests used to be a client of his nursery manager and she squeezed him in as a favour too the nursery manager (and I wrote her a thank you letter).
