Hi There
Does anyone have any experience of this? We have just had to fill one out for DS2. There is a very convoluted scoring sheet on the back, that I am just too dense to make any sense of!! I would really like to know how to score his sheet, as I had never really considered that he might have ADHD.

Score it honestly!

The complicated scoring bit is not for you, it's for them. As I remember, it's 3 for lots, 2 for some, 1 for not much and 0 for not at all. You don't need to worry about anything beyond that.

agree just be as honest as possible.

dont try and guess what the answer should be if he was/nt ADHD.

I can't remember exactly ( it was 4+ years ago)! It seemed odd to me ( with a science background anyway accustomed to score sheets!)the scoring was on the back. I answered the parents bit as honestly as possible to avoid squewing by looking at the scoring! I'm afraid I made a note of our and school replies so I could work out the scores! If I remember correctly the questions are aimed at distinguishing the behaviours of learning disability , add, adhd and odd and possibly cd. I remember making a chart ( with question numbers down the left side and several columns for each Dx - so I could score it. You kind of end up with different scores at the bottom of each column for each dx. Ds scored high for adhd and even higher for ld - a dx I had not considered - odd as it may now seem! Ds now has a dx of ASD LD and is treated for ADHD. HTH

I have already filled out the sheet (as honestly as I can) It was one of three tests the Paediatrician gave us (the other 2 were a Australian Asperger's test and a Behaviour and Social Difficulties questionnaire) I really wanted to see how he scored to prepare me for the next visit with the Paediatrician. To try and guess what angle she might be coming from, if that makes any sense! The school have had the same 3 questionnaires to fill out also.

I didnt know the schools scores at the time I completed the thing and I too just did the questions and left the calculations to the experts. I have a maths backround but am afraid I didnt really consider that i would have the knowledge to analyse the scores even if I got as far as reaching a score.

The results from school and us were surprisingly similiar apart from the hyperactivity/impulsivity scores which i had decided I had underestimated anyway ( maybe not recognising that being always fidgety and squirmy as opposed as running around like a mad thing is a sign ) at the time I received the results.

Its so difficult waiting for the answers isn't it!

Thanks again for all the advice. I am just going to send them all off and see what occurs!! You're right magso, I am very bad at waiting patiently I like to be Uber- prepared for what the professionals might say! I tend to think that the answers between ourselves and the school might be somewhat conflicting, we see different sides of DS because the enviroments are so different. I hope we get to see their answers though I think that might be quite enlightening in itself..
