Amidst my general malaise, one bit of bright news... Finally set up a bank account for Sweet Peas, the parent and toddler group for parents and children with special needs, that I have trying to set up since last year! My friend (who I am doing it with) and I are so chuffed and we have also found a free venue. Want it to be really supportive with singing and special time, good coffee, CAKE, visiting 'experts' (trying to convince my SALT to do a 'prime ministers questions'!) and eventually 'special events'. So hopefully parents will find it a haven and not have to worry about the inquisitive glances of other mums and generally feeling uncomfortable at a mainstream group. Hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ps Do tell me what YOU would want from such a group...

Blossom, oh please come. Not saying counselling isn't helpful, but meeting us will be too .
Hope you're OK changing the ad amount. My friend found that really difficult. Sorry you're feeling a bit all over the place honey. {{hugs}}

Jak - I will do my absolute best to see if I can change it. Now I don't even know when you are all meeting as I would have to meet early. It could be all over the place due to snow that's on it's way though!

I am seeing the gp on Weds as I have the joy of having my coil removed (oh the fun - and sorry too much info!) so will have a chat then.

Hey BH, would love you to come to the meet up, its next Friday 25th and I can get there for 11am and Internationalgirl too. you must try to get together with other parents at DD's school, I'm surprised there isn't anything already. Don't try anything too ambitious, maybe just send out a note through school bags to say who wants to meet for coffee on X day....

I promise I'll try, just have to make a few calls.

I know we really need it Davros. Went to another sn group and I couldn't believe the bitching and backstabbing so stopped going. I just don't need it at all.

Bloody hell, I'd rather not have that sort of "support"!! Don't feel pressured BH, if you think your counselling session is the best thing to do then you must go but we'd all love to see you.

I will try my best davros, I promise

Jak, are you ok? I sent you an email but wasn't sure if you got it because my laptop is refusing to receive any today. Keeps coming up with an error.

JakB · 22/02/2005 09:54

Heh Pixel, yeah, just e-mailed you to say not feeling too hot so can we rearrange?
