I've had to leave the kitchen because the woman on there is driving me up the wall.

She adopted a child with SLD who had experienced years of abuse, but subsequently put the child BACK into care after promising her she had a proper home now etc. etc. because it seems she couldn't cope with the child's inability to take turns with present opening at Christmas and the fact that she had a so-called 'dark stare'.

oh dear god.

And SS will place kids with SN anywhere - with the bizarrest of reasons. I know someone with a child with SN who wanted to adopt. She wasn't allowed to adopt an NT child because of her dd having SN, but was allowed to adopt a child with some quite significant SN because she would need less help and support than an NT child. In fact the adoption has worked well, but what warped and back to front reasoning.

WTF?

I saw the daily mail one - it sounds similar. I kind of hope it is the same one and there aren't SN kids being shuffled back and forth all over the place. If people are putting kids in care because of evil stares my parents must be saints - they practically had bore holes in the back of their heads when I was a teenager!

SS appeared to think that the girl with SN 'wouldn't notice' that she had been adopted and swapped homes She had a language disorder and some moderate learning difficulties!

But SS in general know bugger all about learning disabilities.

I'm sure the home-swapping helped her no-end! I know you can't expect people to understand every single thing about every single special need but some things are just common sense - surely??

Well that was the official story. I suspect they just have different criteria so a home that isn't seen as 'good enough' for an NT child is seen as perfectly OK for a child with SN. Seems its OK for adoptive kids with SN to have siblings with SN, but not NT adoptive kids.

Luckily the adoption worked out OK, but it does just about sum up the density of SS doesn't it. I mean SS being fuckwits is hardly a surprise!

my ds does this all the time and i bloody love him for it seems she obviously wanted her life back for what ever reason and had to make up some crap exscuse to get rid of the poor girl

lets hope she gets a more loving home now and someone who shows her more consideration and understanding

Christie - should have strapped the foster mum in the wheelchair and pushed her over!

It seems really bizarre that someone like the mean foster mum is allowed to look after children and yet other nice folk aren't allowed to foster/adopt for the strangest reasons. The case jimjams mentioned and many others just seem to get things completely backwards or there isn't enough leeway in the 'system'.
