Just a very quick question re: stimming

Sorry for my ignorance, but could I just ask - does stimming only apply to a physical movement or do noises count as stimming too?

My ds has more recently been making alot of noises either in between speaking and also eating (also cleaning teeth). I used to do this when I was younger and it used to drive my Mum bonkers.

How`s things?

Hi Figleaf - blimey, I thought I recognised this thread title, then realised it was mine!

I did start another thread as this was sort of "hidden" in the title. Basically I received the letter below on the Friday morning - the meeting had been 2 days before on the Wednesday morning. The govs said they had a lot to consider (1.5hrs was all we were allowed) and the Chair of Govs said she was on holiday at that time, so their response may be longer than the 5 days in which they should reply....

Dear Choc
I refer to the Complaints Panel Hearing of 29/06/05 and acknowledge your concerns, namely

  • the handling of your original complaint by the Chair of govs
  • you and your son's treatment by the school
  • the issue of bullying

The panel of govs wishes to apologise that the letter of 23/05/05 did not fully address the issues that you had raised.

The panel regrets that you felt the school was unapproachable and unprofessional in dealing with yourself and ds. The govs will look to review the communication channels in school with a view to seeking improvements in the communication procedures.

In addition, govs will look at the Bullying Policy and its implementation, as a result of the issues that you have raised.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for the evidence you have prepared and for your time.

Whilst the panel expresses the hope that, aside from the actions aforementioned, this letter brings to a conclusion your complain, I must advise you have the right to appeal on the issue of process in this matter. If you wish to appeal, please notify XXXXXXXX, Performance Review Manager. You must set out the reasons for your appeal in writing and send them to XXX XXXXXX, within 10 working days of receipt of this letter.

Yours sincerely

The idea was to not appeal (as could only appeal on the issue of process, which is obviously not my main problem althought the meeting had been a shambles from start to finish) but to write (a very long letter)in response to the lies the head had put on paper about me prior to the meeting, which the govs saw. This letter was to be put on my file alongside her letter (10 pages of which there were at least 19 lies about me and ds) and address each lie in order and at length. This could then be kept on file with her document with the idea that both letters are kept together and read together, therefore hopefully giving both sides of the story.

I am very ashamed to say I haven't yet done this, as 1. I'm so very lazy and felt I needed a rest as was (and still am) SOOOO stressed and 2. It's on my TO DO list but keeps getting left there.

Thanks for the reminder, I am gonna have to get on with this.

You do that. Well done for everything that you have done already though. Perhaps having this in the public eye and on her record will make her more careful in future.

Sorry if you repeated anything the other thread has eluded me.
