Major Buggy assessment

Sorry, I think this has already been mentioned recently.

We are going for an assessment for a Major Buggy on the 21st. What will actually happen?

I have visions of them watching Ellie run around and wonder why we are there!!

DD had her assessment at the beginning of the month and her major buggy turned up last Thursday!!! Absolutely FAB, so easy to use, and she looks like a right little madam in it!

I had a really negative phone conversation with dd's physio the day before the assessment, and basically she told me that "perhaps I shouldn't be wasting valuable resources when I didn't need them!!!"

I got myself really worked up over it and almost gave up and cancelled the appointment-but I am SO glad I didn't.

The OT we saw at the wheelchair clinic was great, he didn't frog march dd up and down and "examine" her capabilities. He didn't even ask to see how she walked in her AFOs! He sat down and asked how she was doing, and how I was coping-unfortunately I "let loose" so to speak, told him about the complete lack of help and advice and some of the issues I had to deal with.
By the time we had finished dd had climbed up onto the chair beside him, taken the pen from his pocket, climpbed up onto the pedestal by his desk and played with his phone, basically, she didn't stop!
He gave me some phone numbers and contacts to chase up, OT self refferal being one of them!
He didn't question our needs, and without ado, he said "well this is what we can offer, (a brand new major!!) but unfortunately, it will take 2-3 weeks!!!"
FFS-does this man not know how much crap we take, as if waiting 2-3 weeks was BAD!!!!
Really we had nothing to worry about, I can only hope that your asssessment goes as well as dd's did!
