how do i get free nappies ????

i think i remember reading on here about getting free nappies my ds is 5 and still in them he has asd recieves dla highest rate care.
who do i contact to find out about them is it my local council???

You should be able to get free nappies when your child turns 4, but I only found out about it from other parents - nobody goes out of their way to tell you what you're entitled to!

I called the SN health visitor at the local child development unit and she sorted it out for me. I imagine every health authority differs slightly, but I think that if you have an SN HV then they'd be the place to start!

We got ours via Health Visitor, but only when we asked...... They are not keen to let you know about these things round here!

Ds's HV referred us to the Continence Nurse (who is based at the local hospital in the Continence dept) who in turn came round to measure up my ds and put in an order for '4 units' every 24hr period. (unit = nappy!!). Good luck, ds was 4yrs old when he qualified.
