Too exhausted to actually parent

Not asking for advice or strategies or tips or tricks.

Just a place to say that i am so very, very tired of the endless vocalising and verbalising and screeching and noise, and the sleeplessness, and the need for constant undivided attention, and the impulsive hitting and biting and pinching, and the loud flat monotone, and the incessant questions, and the refusal to answer anyone else’s questions, and the arguing endlessly about everything, and the temper and rudeness without any redeeming tenderness or affection.

I feel like I am just trying to survive, and I have nothing left over to try to ‘parent’ in any constructive or proactive way.

I am so burnt out.

I hear you and I'm with you in solidarity. Even when they sleep, I can't, either or of worry or because one of children often needs a pull up changing around this time or they lie in 💩 all night. It's exhausting

What support are you and DC receiving?

What support is DC receiving in school? Does DC have an EHCP?

Has DC had a SALT assessment?

Has DC had a home OT assessment? What about a sensory OT?

Does DC take anything to help with sleep?

Have you had social care assessments? A carer’s assessment for you and an assessment of DC’s needs for DC.

For the noise, have you tried noise cancelling headphones/earphones for you?
