Break through with DH

As I have mentioned previously, DH is struggling to come to terms with DS's dx of Aspergers.

He got called into school by DS's teacher yesterday. He asked DS what he had been up to and he confesed that he had written a swear word on a book.

DH not happy as we don't like this teacher. I said that he could always play his 'trump card' and mention the dx if she was giving DH a hard time and he did!

That was a big hurdle to cross, actually saying it out loud and he did it!

LOL, well done Mr Unfitmother! Finally letting go of the fantasy child that never existed and seeing how parents can benefit from DX.
I got that All Cats Have Aspergers book in the post today from NAS shop, OMG it's soooooo cute!

How did the teacher react? Do they know anything about Asperger syndrome?

Well done to dh, definitely a step in the right direction

The teacher reacted very well, providing support and reassurance. She and DH agreed that it was not 'carte blanche' as far as his behaviour goes, but did explain it to some degree. School pretty good, they asked to refer him to the Autism support service 18mths before his dx.
He starts High School in September, they'll know what they're doing; they've got an Autism Support Base.
