Family fund grant

We have been awarded a £400 Argos gift card for bed and bedding for our son. He has a mid sleeper currently and we are sleeping on a mattress on the floor. He won’t go to sleep in his own bed and needs me to lie with him at night until he is asleep so then my husband is having to lift him from the mattress into the high bed, which isn’t ideal.

I don’t know whether I’m being too literal in my thinking but I’m aware that you are only allowed to use the voucher for what you asked for. Would it be possible to buy two beds with it? Or what happens if you buy everything you need and have say £30 left on the voucher, are you allowed to use that for something else that would benefit your child?

Thanks

Usually as long as you buy the item applied for, you can spend the left over money on other household items that will benefit DC. For example, if buying a bed and bedding, some might buy a rug or lamp with money left. But, if you are concerned, you can check with Family Fund.

Will DS’s room fit a double bed? That might be better than 2 singles.

I was going to say the same as @ExistingonCoffee. Will the room fit a double or even a small double? This is what we have done as our son needs someone to be with him to fall asleep - honestly it's been a life saver!
