Does anyone have any insight?

DD Yr 8 has a trial day - what to expect?

any intel on what it’s like as a school (dd has ASD, adhd)

and anything I need to prepare myself for re LA funding? Dd has an echp, our LA sent me a list of schools to explore. Those in borough aren’t right, this one is in their list but as “ out of borough” so don’t know if that makes it harder to secure funding. We would cover transport as it’s closer to us than some that are in borough.

thank you x

Out of area schools can still be named.

Although AH doesn’t admit DC whose primary need involves challenging behaviour, some DC find the behaviour (that is a result of their SEN) of other pupils difficult to cope with. Not quite as much as at some of Cavendish’s other schools, though.

AH is wholly independent. Therefore, the rules are slightly different for naming them in an EHCP. You need an offer of a place. If it is your preference, you should also start to build a case that the school is not unreasonable public expenditure &/or other school(s) proposed by the LA cannot meet needs.

Don’t rely on the list the LA has given you being complete. Look wider. LAs are often selective in what information they provide to parents.
