Dd has been on Mediknet XL for about 18 months for the first year it worked amazingly well but then she hit puberty, grew about 6 Inches and whilst I wouldn't say it doesn't work its not working anywhere near as well as previously and we are starting to get the shouting out impulsively at school etc again she has a review coming up and am thinking of asking about an increase. She's 12 and is on 20mg a day she's also 5 foot 6 so adult size! This is our first proper NHS annual review (was titrated on right to choose) so was wondering about what they might ask and how to approach an increase...any experiences welcome.

No expert experience just wanted to say my ds is 8years old, 128cm (can't recall weight but is fine for height) hebis on 20mg and can take a 5mg top up if he needs.

Psychiatrist isnt prescribing a higher dose daily due to appetite suppression but indicated it could be an option - assume to 25mg in the am.

Sharing so you know that based on my experience that your child could increase and not unreasonable to ask. Make sure you tell the Psychiatrist everything.

I need to keep.a diary and email the "big issues" over. So whatever your big issues are I would.do that to support any request.

Hope your Psychiatrist is good xxxx

Mine weren’t diagnosed until after puberty but I think given what you’ve said , it’s perfectly reasonable to ask for an increase in dose.
