DLA increase wait time for UC backdate

My son’s DLA was increased to high rate care. I have notified UC awaiting verification. How long to verify and backdate? Do I need to keep reminding them?

This is a case of how long is a piece of string, I’m afraid. Some receive the backpay much quicker than others. Same for it being verified and added to your claim going forward.

I made the change on uc from middle rate care to high rate care last Wednesday, they sent a note saying it has gone to specialist team to be verified on the Thursdays but still haven’t heard anything yet, which day did you do yours?

I originally told them on 10th November but hadn’t included when DLA had backdated it from. So wrote in my journal, then was notified I needed to do another COC including the date it was backdated to. 17th November I re did the new COC. So have done that, I called up last night and asked for clarity- today a work coach got back to me and said I have now done it correctly but is still yet to be verified. Definitely keep calling because if you ask them to do anything they have to act within 48 hours and kind of puts a timer on them. So I will be contacting again next week, as I was told the work coach can verify but for back payment is another team.
