Smell problem

wondered if anyone could offer me something that could help my son please.

He is 7, autistic, has ARFID and Pica. He really struggles around smells of food and often eats alone in his bedroom for this reason. We are going ok holiday and once booked we were offered plane meals which is something I’ve never been offered for a 2 hour flight.

I think he’s really going to struggle on the plane with the smells. Can anyone offer anything I could take with us to help him with the smells both on the plane and in the all inclusive dining area on holiday?

thanks

Is it possible to change the booking to self catering accommodation? If DS can’t cope eating at the dining table with others at home, he is unlikely to cope on holiday eating around many other people.

For the plane, is adjusting the flight time to one where meal service is unlikely possible? If not, is there something non-food based strong smelling DS likes? You could take that for him to smell.

We booked the early morning flight because we didn’t think meals would be served but they are actually serving full meals at 7:15am.

we can’t change to self catering, but I will try find something to combat the smells
