Stammering Issues (SALT advice needed please)

DS who is 9 and statemented has developed a stammer.

Was wondering if anyone here has had experience with private and or NHS speech therapy specifically with regards to their child stammering. I realise that not every SALT has such expertise; infact the NHS SALT who has seen us for years (as diagnosed with speech and language delay) now has referred us to another SALT specialising in stammering (this was brought up in the annual review last Nov). Am still awaiting an appointment.

Went into school this week to hand in some stuff to the school office and actually saw his teacher (shock!) who also talked to me a little!. She tells me that DS is doing very well in class but wishes to speak to me further about his stammer as she says it is getting worse. Have some info from BSA to give her; hopefully she will accept it and take it on board.

All the above is pulling this Meerkat down a bit (feel very low at times) so any advice will be much appreciated.

Attila x
