Renewal - DLA

Anyone waiting on a renewal decision. My son’s DLA runs out 5th December. I’ve done one renewal before for another of my children and heard about 10 days before the current award ended. Guess that is to be expected again now? Hate the waiting!

Hi there. I did my first renewal this yr. They scanned it into the system 9th July. His award due to end tomorrow and I rang yesterday to be told the decision was made on the 4th November. Another 2yr award. So they literally made the decision 4 days before his current award ends.
I have heard its commonplace to have the decision made very close to if not on the actual end date. A lady I spoke to at DLA actually told me this last week. It all depends on whose desk it falls on I suppose. Not great for us who dont like the wait, I know some who had their renewals done within the month.
