can someone help me with advice, daughter has been diagnosed informally with autism have been told that she would be better in a sn school but places are tight so she does have a mainstream place but we dont want her going to mainstream if at all possible, as she has no interaction with other children full stop and cant cope with noise etc etc

anyway the school we want her at well have been advised to try her in has 3 places is there anything we can do to make our chances better

they always say those who shout get the most ? what should i do

Hi, hope you are ok. It is a shock to find out your child has autism, then the double whammy of being told they need a place at a special school. It was a shock for me with my ds.
Have you got a statement of sen. If not you should start the procedure, then tell all professionals involved that it is vital that your dd gets an assessment place at the school. This is sometimes possible, I just missed the deadline for my ds last year. Although I missed out last year, I now have a place for him in September. Also sometimes LEAs say there are no places left, but there are, they just have to supply funding to the school. I have a friend who managed to get her child into the sn school she needed, the LEA provided extra funding to the school.
Don't panic, I know you are anxious.
Take care.x

I'd have a look at IPSEA
www.ipsea.org.uk/index.htm
and track down your local autism charity and talk to them about best options locally, too.

Good luck!
