Party bags for classmates

We’ve had some sweets sent home for classmates birthdays recently, he attends a Specialist School and I don’t know his classmates or their parents. With my sons birthday next week I was thinking of sending something in. Is this the norm? What do people send?

At my ds’ special school it’s probably the same as ms: packs of sweets, little party bag fillers, sensory toys, that sort of thing. I’ve also sent in cupcakes for the class.

You might want to check with staff on any allergies and, of course, no nuts if it’s going into school.
