Im already claiming Dla for my son and i had the email today saying he's been issued an EHCP , I wanted to know if it's a good idea to send it in for DLA and will it make any difference to the claim ?

If your already claiming sending it in wont make a difference unless your trying to do a coc for a higher award and in that case, yes its worth sending if it you think it will evidence higher care/mobility needs. COCs are taking at least 30 weeks

He's getting high rate care and lower rate mobility, but i believe he is entitled to the high rate mobility and this might be the evidence we need . Thank you for replying

What route are you looking to go down? Have you had a look at the flow charts for SMI & VUW?

If you are already receiving DLA, you don’t need to send the email agreeing to issue a draft.

You can request a change of circumstances if you wish, but, on its own, an email agreeing to issue a draft will not be sufficient to secure HRM. You should also be aware the award can go down as well as up.
