Hi,

I am also in NI, but not heard of anything like that although we are still in the assessment stages. How old is your DC? Could nursery or school help with ideas?

I'm glad you posted I was beginning to feel like the only northern irish person on the site!

My DD is 2 and 1/2. She also has an informal diagnosis of autism and severe learning difficulties. Our paed has suggested already that she goes to local SN school, which would be lisburn for us (although school isn't for another 2 years )

At the moment we have Developmental intervention, and are waiting to hear about a nursery place in Segal House for sept. I'll also be lost for things to do over the summer though.

We have a group this morn, and developmental intervention this afternoon, so I can ask if they know anywhere suitable.
Where abouts in NI are you?

i am in bangor, we have a mainstream place for her but the ed pscholgist wants to get a place in killard house in newtownards however has came back to us today and said places r tight so we dont know where she will be going, r peadatrician has said that she has autism but just need it on paper, so we our going to see what next week brings as we have a few meetings.

yes any advice would be great and if i can help vice versa too

Hi,

123- Our groups have drawn a blank about things you could be doing over the summer with your DD

Bethron- I still haven't heard about a place yet, but I really hope she gets in! She is doing so well at developmental intervention, her therapist feels that if she gets to Segal next year, mainstream or a less restrictive placement could be an option how old is your son now? It's nice to hear from other NI mummies

Hi Bethron,

I don't have cat here, but feel free to send me an e-mail anytime - it'd be great to hear from you

it's hele_wele(at)hotmail.com

Sorry I couldn't be more help 123, but it'd be great if you got in touch too - then maybe we could have our own wee SN meet up for the NI mummies!
