SD 09/04, Got my backdated pay Tuesday and received the letter today confirming what my son will get. I feel like I may be in the minority here but it is more than I expected. I’m sure I filled everything in correctly and I sent a lot of evidence from his specialists/ECHP/Psychologist/school but I’m a little bit in shock. It will make a huge difference to our lives

Hello, I've just phoned and spoke to a lovely gentleman I wanted to know if they had received my DD extra evidence and if I had time to send in more. He told me I may have time but I'd have to be quick sending it as they are currently working on April's new claims. My DD scan date is 13/05.

Hi anyone know anything about 3 year old getting the mobility
My son gets middle rate care was told to apply for the mobility once he turned 3 which was last month
He meets all 3 main points in a away like walking he won't walk out doors at all his pram is his safe place
His Vision is really bad and won't wear glasses due to sensory issues so cnt see that well
And the mental health part I feel he meets because he's nonverbal and cnt understand instructions and stuff just makes everything so unsafe for him
Anyone else get mobility for a 3 year old

You need a lot of professional evidence . They really don’t like giving hrm- someone on here at a 3 year old who literally can’t walk and she was refused my son also should be Eligible with the smi criteria but was also refused - I had a lot of evidence too but by the time it’s all over I don’t have the fight in me to fight it

Yes I have seen a lot say it's so hard to get 😫 it's sad how hard we have to fight for thing for our kids and it's so draining isn't it I am not holding my breath with my son's but I do feel he's entitled to it but ready for for them to give him a no

How old is your son? I’m claiming under the smi but I’m not convinced I will get it even with loads of evidence, I think they will give her LRM from her 5th birthday instead

It takes so long to wait for a COC so it may be worth you calling for the form and sending it in then just sending in evidence as and when you receive it.

* positive post*
My sons claim was due to end on 22/07, I called up and spoke to a lovely lady who told me a decision had been made on the 16/07 and he had stayed at the same rates (mrc lrm) until 2030. I believe he should be entitled to hrc so asked for a statement of reasons to be sent out so I could do a mr (this is our first renewal since 2018, I did a mr back then but was declined and instead was awarded until 2025)
Anyway I received a random payment in my account yesterday so called again and was told his claim has been looked at again and he’s been awarded hrc! 🎉

ProudZebra · 26/07/2025 14:15

Do you think this is worth sending as proof that he needs extra help?? He’s 44mths, I’m also not sure if the bit about likely needing extra help in school will mean he will have an EHCP?

Hey can anyone give any advice on evidencing night time needs? I have an email from the sleep specialist saying that my son is being prescribed melatonin for his inability to sleep through the night, he wakes hourly and is 3 1/2, he is diagnosed autistic and currently gets middle rate care for his daytime needs but his night needs are actually so so high as well so I'm waiting on a mr decision to get high rate care! Will this be a good piece of evidence to sent? Not expecting and change in mobility until he's 5 xx

@Juddy28 In order to get HRM under the smi rule the child must be entitled to the higher rate care component.. As you've stated your child receives the middle rate care component your child wouldn't qualify under smi route.
