DLA mobility

My little boy who’s 5 in November receives high rate care but nothing for mobility at the moment, im sure when I had the letter to say he qualified for DLA (care side) they said they would send the forms out before his 5th birthday for me to apply for mobility, is this usually the case or am I better off just printing the form and not waiting being as new claims are taking so long anyway?

also, when applying for mobility, do you need to complete the whole form again or is it just certain sections?

Thank you ☺️

DWP should send you a form. This should, in theory, be about 6 months before the child’s 5th birthday but lots don’t receive them until a couple of months before. Call for a form.

The whole claim will be looked at again. Depending on what form you are sent, some are able to tick to say care needs haven’t changed.
