Had a chat with DS keyworker on friday.
The LEA asked could their Ed Psych do a cognitive asessment on him as he was too anxious when he was being stat asessed, i asked school what they thought and they said yes they had suggested it to make sure that they were teaching him properly.
they were supposed to be doing it after half term but went in on weds.

i said to the keyworker, LEA,s just dont spend money for ed psychs to do a cognitive asessment and especially sooner than they said and he paused, i said oh no dont tell me you think what i suspect (that they will try and get ds back into mainstream) and he said "well yes they may"

i said oh my god no, he cannot go to mainstream, he couldnt cope with primary school what are they going to do make him spend another 2 years at home?

he said if they try to move him we will mount the biggest fight ever to keep him, we will involve social services and health and make it hard for them to do so, he,s not going anywhere.

i feel sick.

i will fight tooth and nail for him to stay there and will involve the media or whatever it takes.

Cognitive has nowt to do with it. He can be the cleverest child that ever lived, but if mainstream can't meet his social and emotional needs, it's tough - he can't be moved. Not without Tribunal (and this time, the waiting will be good for you, as they can't change the Statement if you appeal it until Tribunal have had their say).

oh i didnt know that, i thought they could change his statement and then we have to go to tribunal to get him back into the school.

phew..............

at least i know what im up against only this time the school will be on his side and not like the one on tuesday who just lied and lied about dd.
