Mandatory reconsideration DENIED

I can’t lie I am absolutely sobbing as I type this which might sound so silly but after a year of waiting and DLA going 6 weeks over their deadline for them to deny the MR has made me so so angry and I just feel at a complete loss. My DS is about to turn 9, he’s non verbal, severe ASD, still in nappies. Our SEN pushchair has been taken away as they said they only give them to children for education reasons, not for social and my child is on a school bus to get to his special school so he doesn’t need it for education. We have no way of getting him around safely. He runs off, takes food from other people’s tables, screams, drops himself to the floor, needs physical restraint and refuses to walk. He wants to constantly go on his dad’s shoulders. He is almost 5ft tall, weighs almost 7 stone and wears 13-14 clothes so as you can imagine me being 5ft 2 and near enough the same weight as him this is not physically possible and I can’t take him out the house alone. I have 2 other kids with SEN too so when dad’s not here I am literally trapped inside of the house. I can’t even buy milk from the corner shop. Having HRM would honestly be such a huge help to our lives and I just feel like I’m stuck in a cycle. Has anyone managed to have a decision overturned before it got to tribunal? Can I take my child to the tribunal? If I can I am going to walk him in, sit on a chair and let him run absolutely wild. I don’t understand how it’s even possible they denied the MR. I’ve carefully reviewed all 5 of the test points and he fits every single one without fail.

Haven’t been through the MR process yet, but just wanted to say, I can understand why you would be upset.

There are charities that maybe could help get another buggy? Have you looked into this? It can take time though I believe..
Has your son been seen by any professionals lately? Occupational Therapy might be useful if he’s not seen one in a while x
