ADHD or overthinking

Hi all just after some advice.
7yr old DS - just wondering when the ‘normal’ child behaviour is no longer ‘hes just a kid’ behaviour.

Son has always been on the go, cant sit still even at school. He's not disruptive at school but he cant sit still in his seat. Even when hes slighly still at home his feet or fingers will be moving. He cant just walk he has to skip or jump along.
Very emotional, will cry but unsure why. On the other hand will also get frustrated easily which can turn into crying.
Always loosing water bottles or school jumpers and never knows where hes left anything.
Talks alot - even to himself when getting washed. Interrupts conversations or will ask random questions in the middle of story time.
Cant sit and watch a film or play for too long as he gets bored quickly - also doesnt really like to play with toys he prefers role play/imaginative play but with a friend or parent.

Am I right for thinking it could be ADHD or am I overthinking the situation?

Any help or advice at all would be really appreciated.😊

Always seek medical advice. NHS waiting time in our area is 4 years so don’t just watch and wait.

It is worth asking for a referral. There are certainly some 7 year olds who still fall into what you describe but at the extreme level it could be a sign of something going on.

Have you spoken to the SENCO at school? What support are they providing?

No I havent spoken to the Senco as its just recently ive been thinking if maybe it could be ADHD. He is seeing the school nurse team next week so ill mention it to them and see what they think. I spoke to his teacher about the constant movement and she confirmed it is at school aswell that he cant sit still and had ants in his pants

Request a meeting with the SENCO.
