Autistic child and hearing test

My almost 5 year old was diagnosed with ASD last week and I have just received her report from her vision and hearing test she had at school a couple of weeks ago.

She has failed her hearing test in her left ear. I've not noticed any hearing issues with her, she seems to be able to hear more sounds than the average child in my opinion. Do you think she was just overwhelmed and got distracted? Or is there a link between ASD and hearing problems? Apparently she could hear fine in her right ear and her vision test was fine.

It might be nothing, but it is a good idea to follow it up.

In our experience when DD was in reception they had concerns following her vision test. She was referred to the eye clinic at the hospital and all was fine. I know she would have been distracted. Test's were in mainstream, she would have struggled etc. Has there been any mention of audiologist appointment for further investigation?

Will add other DC had glue ear, wasn't obvious but picked up through audiologist.
