Hi , my child recieved dla inormed uc and gave them the date they started receiving it the date i requested the forms when i found out she had been accepted they started to add the disabled element and careers element i have been receiving that part for 7 month . however i was unaware i had to ask for the back date separately . someone has told me recently that i had to ask for the backdate separately . As i told uc when i originally found out she was accepted for dla and told them what date she started to receiving it when i found out . Is it worth trying to ask for the back-payment now as they never informed me when i put in a change of circumstances to write in my journal to get it backdated or do you think its too late ?
