Our Carers' Centre offers a payment of £500 for carers to use in any way that constitutes a break for them. It could be put towards a holiday, health club membership, a course of some sort - as long as it is for the carer only and not something practical directly related to their caring. You have to make your case and fill in a form and can apply once a year I think. We also get 10 free sessions of complementary therapy, either at a local centre or in our home. This ranges from acupuncture to massage to aromatherapy and some other weirder things like crystal healing! If you have a local Carers' Centre then contact them, maybe get info from Council website.

Thank you davros.Do you know if you have to have a child with a specific disability or does any one qualify? I will look into the local carers centre. It sounds fantastic!
