My son was awarded high rate care last year for 3 years, I applied for mobility under smi and got rejected I did a mandatory reconsideration in December.
i got a random payment from Dla then received a letter a day later saying they have changed their decision after looking at whole claim again and stopped his Dla from a month ago which is confusing as I have received payment after they sent the letter?
i have not received a mandatory notice yet will this be the same decision ?
has anyone been through anything similar as I will be appealing

Unfortunately, MRs can result in awards can decreasing as well as increasing, but definitely appeal.

DLA is paid in arrears which could explain why you received a payment after the date on the letter informing you of the decision to stop DLA.

For HRM under SMI, you need to prove every part of the test. You can see the SMI flowchart in this document. To be eligible, you need to prove every part of criteria. Also look at Contact’s leaflet.

was it a large amount? And did they tell you why they stopped his claim? Mandatory reconsiderations takes 25 weeks at the moment. So if you requested it in December they will look at it around May or June. Have you called them

While most MRs are taking a long time, there are some that are being done much quicker.
