After a long wait, we finally have an in person SALT appointment next week for dysfluency for DC. Is the goal of the first appointment to get a diagnosis? Or describe the pathway to getting a diagnosis? Or have we overcome that hurdle in the phone appointments and they'll start figuring out how to support DC (primary aged)?

What kinds of activities will they do with DC and what questions will they ask us? I kind of want to make sure I have my notes in order so we can make the most of it!

There isn’t a set format, I’m afraid. In part, it depends on where you are.

They will probably ask for a developmental history. It can help to make a timeline of events/previous support, etc.

I found the same, both DC have had SLT and they wanted a brief history then did a couple of games with them to see for themselves how the DC were talking. That was a few years ago though.
